Principal's Corner

Welcome to Great Neck Elementary School!  I am both privileged and honored to be your principal and serve the community of Waterford.  Our goal at Great Neck is to create a safe and supportive learning environment for your children.  We aim to provide the best educational opportunities possible, preparing each student to become a responsible, respectful and productive citizen.  We are fortunate to offer many extended learning opportunities for your children to take advantage of such as after school STEM, chess, Chinese Language, Culture and Arts, Flag Football, Floor Hockey, Music, Creative Writing, Drama, Yoga, Nature’s Play and more.

Great Neck Elementary School is home to our Early Learning Center services preschool students.  Our Great Neck team is committed to making decisions in the best interests of our students. The structure of our academic programming will adhere to a workshop model in both literacy and mathematics, providing students continued opportunities to work collaboratively with peers, conference with teachers to achieve individual growth, become confident problem solvers and develop critical thinking skills. Technology is a key component in both instruction and assessment. We will be assessing our progress through a variety of measures and continue to raise the bar on student progress.  High expectations and goal setting will be essential to our success. We cannot do it without the continued support of our families.  I welcome you to stop by to find out how you can be actively involved in our school community.

Sincerely,
Billie Shea
